MEMPHIS, Tennessee--(BUSINESS WIRE)--In2Bones Global, Inc. today announced the launch of its CoLink® Mfx midfoot plating system in the United States. This multi-functional low-profile steel plate series is designed to solve various traumatic fractures, osteotomies and midfoot fusions.

The new fixation system includes eight titanium plate styles for Lisfranc and midfoot surgery, as well as variable angle locking, fixed locking, non-locking and cancellous screws, and complete instruments for guided use.

The Lisfranc bone plate adapts to the anatomical structure of the first tarsal and metatarsal joint, and has a unique back-to-plantar twist during the transition from the proximal end to the distal screw hole, leaving room for the independent home run screw.

"The challenge with previous fixation systems was that they did not consider the anatomy of the medial cuneiform bone," said Kevin Varner, MD, head of the Department of Orthopedics at the Weill Cornell School of Medicine at the Houston Methodist Church and Houston expert Kevin Varner, MD, of the Methodist Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. "The twisting of the CoLink Mfx Lisfranc plate allows me to more easily capture better bones in the medial cuneiform, while avoiding the intercuneiform joints and providing room for the home run Lisfranc screws."

The Midfoot Reconstruction series bone plates also have a low profile dynamic lateral compression hole that can be used with 4.0 mm CoLag® screws to compress the entire joint or fracture site.

The entire fixation system is pre-sterilized and prepared for surgery, providing logistics, quality, and cost-effectiveness for healthcare providers.

Like all In2Bones products, the CoLink Mfx midfoot plate system has many design enhancements that simplify and speed up surgical procedures and improve patient outcomes, including:
